Palm Pre's Best Buy Release
We've seen an increase in articles about the supposed shortage of Palm Pre's on launch date, most of them speculation without any verification in facts.
Truth is, Palm has expected a shortage of Palm Pre initially and has made no secret about low stock levels when it's released here in the next couple of days. Some will make it to carrier stores, and others will make it to Best Buy.
Keep in mind that an on order quantity at Best Buy only means the amount that's ordered, not received or even in transit. There could be more or less on hand when the Palm Pre is released. Also, Current Sell price is regular price for the phone, and depending on if you're doing an upgrade or new line of service, you'll see a huge drop in price. The Palm Pre is going to be $199.99 for a new line / upgrade, with no mail in rebate.
Also, remember that not all Best Buy stores carry Sprint, but T-Mobile instead. To avoid disappointment, call first and then arrive early. Best Buy does a great job managing traffic, so there's sure to be a ticketing process in place to get one of these cutting edge devices.
