Palm Pre Released in June?
The Palm Pre will be released in the first week of June, finally ushering Sprint into an arena where it can compete with the ever-present iPhone.
The Palm Pre will boast a touch screen and slide down keyboard in a price point that keeps it competative with the iPhone, BlackBerry Storm, and the Android G1. It will also be the release of the Palm WebOS, unlike most new Palm releases with Windows 6.1.
The Palm Pre will also offer WiFi (but will still likely require a data plan), a 3.0 megapixel camera, and 8GB of onboard storage.
The website (located here) indicated a price point of $199.99 after $100 mail in rebate, but Best Buy stores will be offering it $199.99 without the mail in rebate. Remember, that not all Best Buy stores are able to offer Sprint handsets, so calling ahead for availability is a good idea.
