iPhone 2009 Rumors
If iPhone tongue wagging is correct, the iPhone 2009 will be one heckuva smartphone when it's released. The latest grist from the rumor mill offers the following glimpses into one of the world's most popular smartphones:
Faster Processor and more RAM - usually the failing of most smartphones, the iPhone may get a boost with a 600mhz processor and more RAM for better performance. Also, more storage, moving from 8GB/16GB to 16GB/32GB while supposedly keeping its same price points of $199/$299 for a new activation or qualified upgrade.
3.2 Megapixel Camera - This will bring it inline with other smartphones, like the BlackBerry Storm (also rumored to get a facelift this summer).
Rugged redesign - The current iPhone is pretty, but shows scratches quickly. A matte finish and new screen should help ruggedize the device.
Software Tweaks - Onboard compass, video camera, and the usual assortment, and of course, iPhone 3.0 software, which will allow for MMS messaging, copy/paste, and a whole bunch of fixes that were reported back on March 17th.
All in all, a bunch of buzz. If your current iPhone is still delighting you with the things it can do, then it might be best to skip this for now, unless you've got the pocket change and upgrade eligibility.
