BlackBerry Application Store
BlackBerry recently launched its application store, similar to the app stores offered by the iPhone (iTunes) and the Android OS phone.
You can download this application by going to http://mobile.blackberry.com on your cell phone (you should have a data plan to avoid over the air download charges).
Some of the differences between this and other app stores is the requirement of a PayPal address instead of putting in a credit card. Some people are leery about putting their credit card information out on the web just to get a couple of free applications, so this is an excellent compromise. Visit Paypal at http://www.paypal.com if you don't already have an account. Additionally, BlackBerry tests the applications it puts in the app store, so that your BlackBerry is less likely to have the crashes and incompatible programming that some other platforms have suffered with.
As a long-time industry insider, I might question the amount of applications that are available via the app store vs. the amount of actual applications available for the BlackBerry. With a purported 30,000+ applications out there, you might want to search the web for a free version instead of shopping the app store.
