On April 15th, Virgin Mobile will start offering a new unlimited voice plan for 49.99 along with 'Pink Slip Protection'
As the job market gets more intense and layoffs reach new levels, companies are looking for unusual ways to lure wary customers by offering to make payments for their customers in the event of job loss due to layoff.
The Virgin Mobile offering will make payments for customers on a monthly plan for two months or longer for a period of three months, not to exceed 90 dollars per month, so long as you qualify for state unemployment payments.
In addition, Virgin Mobile is changing its unlimited plan to $49.99 a month (unlimited voice) and upping its unlimited text to $20 a month, perhaps a response to the Boost Mobile unlimited plan.
All around good news for customers - I wonder who else will follow suit?

It sounds good but thats problem, there has to be gimmick here somewhere, thats always the case. Like with virgin's plan for low income people when i heard about it i thought it was great but then i found out it was only offered in a small area and theres your catch. When to be fair it should be offered nationwide, most people havent even heard of this plan cause it is only offered it a small area but is a great deal and its not fair that it isnt offered nationwide. So whats the catch with this one? Probably some tough requirments. Just buyer beware to read the fine print and dont fall for the gimmicks.
