Driving Handsfree
Texting and calling while driving has garnered attention as more and more mass transit drivers are caught (usually after an accident) texting and calling while driving, calling for legislation that mobile devices be banned from use while these workers are on the job.
Is congressional legislation required to make such a move, with more and more states instituting hands free laws? Honestly, I don't think its necessary to legislate it at all, any more than seatbelts need to come into question.
As I travel down the highway daily, I am constantly irritated by slow and/or erratic drivers, most of them on their cell phone. Why is that text so doggone important that you think its OK to impede the progress of those drivers around you?
Please don't text and drive, and get a hands free device for those times you have to make a phone call. No, I don't mean using the speakerphone. Get a bluetooth device or wired speaker for your phone. Not only will you be safer, you're likely to save money and the hassle from your friendly police officer when those laws make their way to your state (if they haven't already).
