Cell Phone Elbow and other Mobile Maladies
The latest in a long line of mobile malarkey or real life medical trauma, cell phone elbow is, as you might imagine, an irritation in your arm when holding a cell phone for long periods of time. There are also several other medical issues supposedly caused by your cell phone habits, some with less proof than others:
Cell Phone Elbow:
As mentioned above, this is caused by flexing the elbow and holding it in one position for too long, which apparently can pinch a nerve so much, it can cause the pinky and ring finger to become clawed.
Brain Tumors:
Supposedly caused by the radiation emitted from holding your phone to your ear for extended periods of time. While evidence has proved inconclusive, some people feel cell phones are dangerous for this reason alone.
Blackberry Palm:
No, this isn't the result of your Blackberry's one night stand with a Palm Treo, it's a condition caused by using your Crackberry so much, you experience chronic pain in your hands. If you live in Beverly Hills or affluent New York neighborhoods, relief is on the way from your local masseuse, some of which will come to home or office to give your messages a happy ending.
At any rate, moderation in all things apparently holds true with your cell phone. Oh, and cleaning it every once in awhile is probably a good idea. Who knows if the last guy you let use your phone had Swine Flu...err...the H1N1 virus.
