Verizon Wireless gets WiFi for Mobile Broadband Subscriptions
Keeping pace with AT&T Mobility, Verizon has introduced it's mobile broadband customers to free WiFi as part of their monthly plan.
What You Need:
- A monthly Mobile Broadband plan
- A Mobile Broadband USB Modem, PC Card, ExpressCard ®, MiFi™ 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot* or netbook/notebook with Mobile Broadband Built-In
- A Wi-Fi enabled notebook or netbook running Windows® 7, Vista, XP or 2000
- VZAccess Manager version 7.2 or higher
This is great news for folks that have difficulty keeping their broadband usage below the threshold of their price plan, but remember that these WiFi hotspots are still unsecured, which can be an issue if you want some semblance of security as you pass credit cards and other sensitive information.
If you're looking for a WiFi hotspot near you, you can click the link here or you can use the VZ access manager to locate a spot for you.
