Verizon Wireless changes mobile web price plans
Verizon is changing their data plans, in order to offer more flexibilty around content and usage. VCast, Verizon's content driven product is now being offered on an unlimited basis for $10 monthly for customers who don't want to have bundled mobile web packages. Web, Email, and network access for applications will be $9.99 for 25MB, and 19.99 for 75MB, if you want ala carte web access.
In this day and age, with unlimited text becoming normal, it is a better value to get one of Verizon's Connect plans, which includes unlimited web browsing and Mobile Email, or Verizon's Premium plan, which includes unlimited web browsing, Mobile Email, and VZ Navigator. They're only $10 more or $20 more, respectively, and you don't have to worry about how many megabytes of data you just squandered on your last mobile web experience.
In addition to their new ala carte data plans, Verizon also announced its latest group of phones, dubbed "Enhanced Multimedia" that will require a minium of a 9.99 data plan. The first of this group, the Samsung Rogue, was just released, and will feature things like full HTML compliant browsers that provide a tabbed browsing experience.
