New Service from AT&T - Voicemail to Text
Instead of listening to your voicemail, would it be better if it came as a text? AT&T has launched a new service that does just that.
AT&T just started the new service, which allows users to read their voicemail instead of listening. The service, priced at just $9.99 a month, allows users to set up a new voicemail box (remember, this will make you lose any saved messages) and have their voicemail converted to text messages.
Each mailbox will hold up to 50 messages and last up to 14 days. However, despite the size restrictions, you can easily email or forward your voicemail text if you need to save it longer.
AT&T does not guarantee 100% accuracy of your voicemails translated to text, as accented speech or unclear enunciation may cause difficulties in translating voice to text. However, if you're looking to get your voicemail at your pace, voicemail to text might be for you.
Keep in mind that this service isn't available for iPhone users and pre-paid customers. If you want voicemail to text, you can logon to your online AT&T wireless account or call customer care at 800-331-0500.
